The German national team produced the chances to win tonight's UEFA Nations League match against reigning world champions France, but were held to a draw at the Allianz Arena.

Manuel Neuer started in goal with Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels paired in the central defense. Matthias Ginter and Antonio Rüdiger were given the chance at the two full-back positions while the usual right-back Joshua Kimmich was moved to midfield next to Toni Kroos.

Leon Goretzka was also included in Löw's starting eleven in a central offensive midfield position with the Bayern midfielder the offense along with Thomas Müller, Marco Reus and Timo Werner.

The first half was quiet and didn't include many chances. Timo Werner came closest for Germany with a strike on goal midway through the first 45 minutes while Olivier Giroud tested Manuel Neuer with a header in the other end with France being the most dominant team towards the end of the first half.

In the second half, Germany were more in control and created a number of good chances. Marco Reus, Mats Hummels and Matthias Ginter all had dangerous attempts on goal, but French goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who was arguably the man of the match, made a string of reflex saves and kept a clean sheet.
