The versatile 28-year-old Austrian has been one of Bayern Munich’s pillars in a decade of consistent success in the Bundeliga and on the European stage, having helped them to a sextuple in 2020/21.

Real Madrid have always been reported as his number one preferred destination – mainly due to his ambitions of playing in Spain and contract demands. Alaba's versatility makes him a remarkable asset for any team.

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed the reports of his move, citing €12m net salary per season – for four years – as his agreed deal.

Luka Modric has already extended his contract until the next of next year. Perhaps, this will allow the Croatian wizard to team up with the talented Austrian in midfield

His deal is set to be announced next month, in May, when the Bundesliga & La Liga season come to an end. Alaba is set to move as a free agent as his contract expires at the end of the current season.

According to Romano, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have been trying hard to convince the Austrian to move but Real Madrid have always been the first choice.

There are reports circulating that 27 will be his jersey number.

He has made 428 appearances so far in his career and has been one of the first names to pop-up on Bayern's team sheet.
