At this time, it is unclear as to whether the round 31 make-up fixture between Hertha BSC and FC Schalke 04 will be played on Wednesday. A player not named has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, causing the club to send all of its licensed professionals home on Monday.

The club's website was quick to point out that this was a precautionary measure and that all other players and staff returned negative PCR tests. In order to assess how widespread the threat may be, everyone will take another test tomorrow morning.

The Gelsenkirchen club has scheduled its next major announcement concerning the matter for Tuesday at noon. If further tests come up positive, the match may be postponed. Team doctor and hygiene officer Dr. Patrick Ingelfinger will oversee the tests and work with local health authorities on how to proceed.
