Daniel Didavi has put pen to paper on a contract extension with VfB Stuttgart, the Bundesliga outfit have announced.

The 31-year-old midfielder's contract, which was due to expire this summer, has been extended by a year.

"Daniel Didavi has been out biggest goal threat from central midfield this season. No matter if he starts or comes on as a substitute, he has great importance for the way we play," said Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat.

"With his positive and integrative nature, he's not just an important factor on the pitch, but in the dressing room as well."

Didavi commented:

"It's nice to continue working with the many people off the field, who have been with this club for a very long time and with whom I have shared this path for a long time. I will continue to give my all for Stuttgart, keep the competition and cohesion within the team as high as possible and support the younger players."

The 31-year-old has made a total of 139 appearances for Stuttgart, racking up 31 goals and 17 assists.
