Wolfsburg hitman on the sights of three top European clubs

Weghorst has netted 20 goals for Die Wolfe in the Bundesliga this season, propelling them to a top four finish and into Europe next season.
VfL Wolfsburg hitman Wout Weghorst has been impressive for the club this season, scoring 25 times and registering 8 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have garnered attention from around Europe, with one another Bundesliga club being interested to lure him away.

Dortmund are said to be planning to onboard a striker for next season, according to reports from Germany. With the speculation of Haaland's position, a move for Weghorst proves to be realistic for Die Schwarzgelben.

The Dutch striker is also said to have attracted interest from Chelsea and AS Roma, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Roma’s new coach Mourinho previously showed interest in Weghorst when he was in-charge of Tottenham.

With a Champions League spot in hand, Wolfsburg will do everything they can to retain Weghorst’s services by offering him a contract extension – he has a deal with the club until 2023.

The 29-year-old is worth roughly around the €30m mark, according to transfermarkt.
