Zorniger and Werner linked with Werder job

Alexander Zorniger and Ole Werner are understood to be among the candidates to take over as Werder Bremen coach.

Alexander Zorniger and Ole Werner have been lined up as candidates for the job as Werder Bremen coach, according to Bild.

Zorniger has been unemployed since leaving Danish side Brøndby IF in February 2019 while Werner is the current coach of 2. Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel, who will face FC Köln in the promotion/relegation play-off this week.

In addition to those two, there is a another unnamed candidate, according to Bild's report.

The job as left vacant when Florian Kohfeldt was sacked with one game left to play of the 2020/21 season.

Werder ended up getting relegated from the Bundesliga after losing their final game under interim coach Thomas Schaaf.
