Oliver Glasner has officially been named new Eintracht Frankfurt head coach after signing a three-year contract with the club.

The 44-year-old will leave his position as Wolfsburg coach to succeed Gladbach-bound Adi Hütter at Deutsche Bank Park.

"Oliver Glasner has proven over the past two years at VfL Wolfsburg that he is capable of working at an absolute top level and developing young players," said Axel Hellmann, spokesman of the Eintracht Frankfurt board.

"In our situation with a high turnover of personnel around the team, we deliberately went for a coach with experience from the Bundesliga and international competition. In addition, we quickly came to the conclusion that Oliver Glasner, with his playing philosophy, is a perfect fit for our team. We are convinced that he will continue the very successful path he has taken in Wolfsburg in Frankfurt as well."

Glasner, who led Wolfsburg to a fourth-place finish in the 2020/21 campaign, commented:

"Eintracht Frankfurt is an exciting club and has undergone great development in recent years. The emotionality in the city and the region around Eintracht is great and internationally renowned, not least after the great performances in the Europa League in recent years. In Frankfurt, we see the opportunity to further develop a team at a strong level and are very much looking forward to this great challenge."
