Matchday 3 – team of the week (4-4-2):

Goalkeeper: Yann Sommer, Borussia Mönchengladbach (2)
The Swiss goalkeeper is in our team of the week for the second time in a row after another decisive performance. Made a string of wonderful saves in the 2-1 win over Schalke 04.

Right-back: Nordi Mukiele, RB Leipzig (2)
Won 70 percent of his duels and saved the ball on the goal line at the end of the 3-2 win over Hannover 96. Also did well going forward and swung in several dangerous crosses.

Central defender: Niklas Stark, Hertha BSC
Strong performance by Hertha's defensive leader who won most of his duels and cleared a lot of balls in the 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg.

Central defender: Matthias Ginter, Borussia Mönchengladbach (2)
Rock solid at the back once and again and coped well with Guido Burgstaller and Franco Di Santo. Also gave Gladbach the lead at the other end.

Left-back: Jerome Roussillon, Wolfsburg (2)
Looks like a really solid signing for Wolfsburg already. The left-back was tireless in the 2-2 draw with Hertha BSC and contributed a lot to the offense with both shots and crosses.

Right midfielder: Arjen Robben, Bayern München
A constant threat in the 3-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Scored a fabulous goal.

Central midfielder: Thiago, Bayern München
Committed a penalty with a handball in the beginning of the game against Bayer Leverkusen, but more than made up for it with his strong positional play and clever passes. Made the assist for James Rodriguez' 3-1 goal.

Central midfielder: Maximilian Eggestein, Werder Bremen
Very involved in Werder's offensive play and scored a wonderful goal from distance.

Left midfielder: Jerome Gondorf, SC Freiburg
Made a huge impact for Freiburg as he netted twice in the 3-3 draw with Stuttgart.

Striker: Mario Gomez, VfB Stuttgart
Did what he does best as he scored two well-taken goals inside the penalty box in the 3-3 draw with Freiburg.

Striker: Timo Werner, RB Leipzig
Showed how much damage he can do with his pace when played in behind the defense as he clinically scored two goals in RB Leipzig's 3-2 win over Hannover 96.
