Europa League win could give Leverkusen vital confidence boost

Bayer Leverkusen could regain confidence by winning the Europa League game against Ludogorets Razgrad on Thursday, Sven Bender says.
After losing their first three Bundesliga games of the season, the confidence at Bayer Leverkusen seems to have taken a blow.

"You can clearly see that some are pondering over the situation. We have to shut that out quickly," Bayer Leverkusen boss Rudi Völler told Kicker.

On Thursday, 'Die Werkself' will begin this season's Europa League campaign with an away game in Bulgaria against Ludogorets Razgrad, and Sven Bender says a win could make the team regain some vital confidence.

"It will be really tough. You should never underestimate such teams. They are always nasty to face in away games. Nevertheless, I wish that we could play well and win to gain confidence for the Bundesliga. That can't hurt," the Leverkusen defender said.

The game between Ludogorets will be played on Thursday at 21.00 (UTC+2).
