Kicker Report: Gonzalez opts for Fiorentina, Stuttgart set to complete €27 million transfer

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that the question of where VfB Stuttgart striker Nicolas Gonzalez is heading has been settled.

The trade journal verifies information coming from Argentine media sources to aver that the wearing Tuscan purple next year.
According to Germany's preeminent footballing publication, VfB Stuttgart are about top pocket upwards of €27 million on the sale of striker Nicolas Gonzalez to AS Fiorentina. An article appearing on the magazine's website asserts that its own sources can corroborate reports coming from Argentina concerning the 23-year-old's destination.

A high stakes game of transfer "poker" has evidently resulted in the hefty transfer fee, of which the striker's hometown developmental club of Argentinos Juniors in Buenos Aires will pocket 12 percent. Ostensibly, the Argentine international himself chose to move to the Serie despite interest from EPL clubs Tottenham and Brighton.

Gonzalez played a significant role in both Stuttgart's relegation campaign (2018/19) and their subsequent promotion season (2019/20). He's long since been considered expendable after the emergence of Sasa Kalajdzic.
