Official: Bielefeld sign French winger through 2025

DSC Arminia Bielefeld confirmed on Sunday that they had secured the services of 22-year-old French winger Bryan Lasme for the coming season.

Sporting director Samir Arabi snatches up a player from the very same club where VfL Wolfsburg's Jörg Schmadtke pulled Maxence Lacroix last summer.
French U20 attacker Bryan Lasme makes the jump to his first top flight footballing side and to the Bundesrepublik after signing a five-year-contract with Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday. Lasme has hitherto played for Ligue 2 side FC Sochaux, where he scored nine goals and registered 2 assists last season.

The second-tier French footballing side produced perhaps the most successful Bundesliga transfer of the just completed 2020/21 campaign. Wolfsburg snatched up defender Maxence Lacroix from Les Jaunes et Bleus last year.

Transfermarkt lists Lasme's current market value at €2 million, but Germany's Neue Westfälische Zeitung reports that the East Westphalians have spent  less than €900,000 to procure the young talent.

"Bryan is a very flexible attacker who brings with him a great deal of potential," DSC sporting director Samir Arabi said in a statement, "We are delighted that he has chosen Arminia."

"I am very happy to have signed with Arminia Bielefeld," the 22-year-old said in his own statement, "I really want to take a chance in the Bundesliga because some of my friends have already gone that way and I'm thus familiar with the league."
