'Die Werderaner' announced that they had agreed a fee with a foreign club, and according to Kicker the club is Royal Antwerp FC.

Eggestein had had a strong season in Linz last year and now wanted to start again at Werder. However, coach Markus Anfang currently has no space for him in the midfield, as Niclas Füllkrug is currently favored there.

The final modalities are yet to be clarified, but it is very likely that Eggestien won't be playing at Werder Bremen anymore.
