Confirmed: Striker Polter joins Bochum on a free
VfL Bochum confirmed the capture of further attacking assistance on Friday evening.
VfL Bochum sporting director Sebastian Schindierlorz confirmed his promoted club's interest in former Wolfsburg, Mainz, and Nürnberg striker Sebastian Polter over the course of the week. On Friday evening the transfer was officially confirmed.
The 30-year-old striker will return to the Bundesliga since being given his outright release from FC Union Berlin in May 2020 after a corona-related pay dispute.
Polter has scored 97 times in his footballing career, though only nine of those tallies came in the German top flight. He did tally nine times last season for Fortuna Sittard in the Erdevisie.
Polter will join the Revierclub on a free.
The newly inked contract runs through 2025.
