Lewis Holtby set for return to Germany

Holstein Kiel are reportedly set to snap up Lewis Holtby on a free transfer.

Former Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV midfielder Lewis Holtby is set to sign for 2. Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel today, according to Sky Germany.

If everything goes according to plan, the 30-year-old may take part in training as early as this afternoon.

Holtby is currently a free agent, having most recently played for English Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

He has made three appearances for the German national team as well as 200 appearances in the Bundesliga.
