After scoring only two goals and conceding nine through the first three Bundesliga rounds of the 2021/22 campaign, the Kleeblätter of Fürth are clearly a side in need of some personnel re-tooling. Two separate sources report that two reinforcements are on the way.

German footballing magazine Kicker currently reports that a deal to bring 1. FC Union Berlin defensive midfielder Sebastian Griesbeck to Middle Franconia is all but through. The 30-year-old only just arrived in Köpenick last season, signed from 1. FC Heidenheim by die Eisernen as part of their roster augmentation for the second season in the top flight.

Griesbeck made just 16 appearances, mostly off the bench, for Urs Fischer's squad.

Swiss German language Daily Blick reports that Rachid Azzouzi and the Fürth administrative team also have an attacker in their sights. The domestic paper has been keeping tabs on former Basel, Luzern, and St. Gallen center-froward Cedric Itten since the 24-year-old departed for Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Premiership last August.

Blick reports that Itten, still under contract in Glasgow through 2024, is set to return to the continent via a one-year-loan.
