Confirmed: Chris Richards returns to Hoffenheim for 2021/22 season
USMNT defender Chris Richards has his requested move with a new loan to Hoffenheim being confirmed shortly after the deadline on Tuesday.
A season-long loan to Sinsheim for Bayern's Chris Richards will likely see the American get his sought-after playing time in Sinsheim this year. The TSG confirmed they had re-acquired the center halve shortly after the transfer window officially closed.
Both club and player pushed for a renewed loan as the deadline neared. At a presser last Friday, FCB trainer Julian Nagelsmann expressed reluctance to let the young prospect go, but noted that he acted on the assumption that the club would loan him out again.
Richards enjoyed several notable performances for die Kraichgauer during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.
