Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Völler has dismissed suggestions that Florian Wirtz has a release clause in his contract.

However, although Wirtz is under contract until 2026, Völler is aware that the highly-rated 18-year-old might not stay that long.

"In the last few weeks, I read somewhere that he had an exit clause, but of course he doesn't," Völler told Bild.

"But that doesn't change the fact that we're a club that have to sell players every now and then, just as we sold Kai Havertz for a large fee. But with Florian, that won't happen in the next year or two."
