Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Alexander Meyerh as signed a contract extension with the club.
The Black and Yellows confirmed on Friday that the 33-year-odl goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a new deal until 2026.
"I am delighted that we have been able to extend Alex's contract for another year," said Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
"He is an outstanding goalkeeper, an absolute team player and an exemplary professional who gives his all in every training session, is always ready and performs when we need him.
“With his positive attitude, he also plays an important role in the dressing room, exuding leadership, composure and confidence. For us, Alex is the best reserve goalkeeper in the Bundesliga.”
Behind Gregor Kobel in the pecking order, Meyer made nine appearances for BVB last season.
After signing his new contract, the goalkeeper said:
"I feel very comfortable in Dortmund, I feel very appreciated by the people in charge, the coaching staff, my teammates, the staff and the fans.
"It's still not a matter of course for me to wear the BVB jersey. That's why I'm happy to be a part of this club every day.
“We've been quite successful in the last two years, but my big goal is still to celebrate a title with the BVB family at Borsigplatz at the end of the season. That's what I'm working towards together with my teammates.”
