Bayern Munich have confirmed that Aleksandar Pavlović is absent from their team to face 1.FC Union Berlin this afternoon with hip problems.

The news of the midfielder's injury was announced by the club via Twitter/X, but little is known about the extend of the damage.

Pavlović has been a key component in Vincent Kompany's squad this season, with over 2,439 minutes of game time under his belt.

Not only does the news come as a blow for the Bavarian club, but also the German National Team and coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Pavlović was called up as part of Germany's squad for their March friendlies against Switzerland (March 27) and Ghana (March 30).

It's fair to say both Bayern and Germany will be sweating over the severity of his injury which may get some clarity in the coming days.
