Bayern Munich are still hoping Dayot Upamecano will sign a new contract at the club, but the situation is complicated with fellow Champions League giants showing keen interest in the 26-year-old center-back.

Real Madrid have been monitoring the situation for quite some time. The Spanish powerhouse could step up its efforts now that Arsenal are close to signing William Saliba on a long-term extension.

Meanwhile, Bild reported Liverpool are considering the possibility of signing Upamecano as a free agent next summer. The Premier League champions have a similar option with their long-term target Marc Guéhi.

Bayern are far from giving up on their effort to extend the contract of the defender who joined the club from RB Leipzig in 2021. However, he could already commit to a new club in January as his Bayern contract expires at the end of this season.
