RED BULL ARENA, LEIPZIG (Bulinews): RB Leipzig were punished for missing several clear-cut chances, as their 1-0 lead was turned into a 5-1 defeat after the break by a ruthless Bayern Munich side.

Rômulo, who scored Leipzig’s only goal, was left frustrated by his side’s wastefulness in front of goal.

“We started very well and created four clear chances that we could easily have scored. That could have changed the game. But we didn't, and then this happened," the Brazilian forward said in the mixed zone after the game.

After Jonathan Tah put Bayern 3-1 up from a corner in the 83rd minute, Leipzig collapsed and went on to concede two further goals.

“We played very well for most of the game, but we need to do so for 90 minutes. If we play like we did in the first half, I think we can beat anyone,” said Rômulo.

“When you play against Bayern and they go two goals up, it's difficult to stay focused. They always push and have top players.”

The 23-year-old could take little comfort from the fact that he scored for the second game in a row.

“Scoring is positive, but we didn't win, so that's not good. I prefer winning to scoring. But if I score, that puts us closer to winning, so I hope to continue like this.”
