The Bundesliga finally returns from the winter break this weekend.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we’ll highlight 10 players to consider adding to your team ahead of Matchday 16.
As a rule of thumb, we’ll try to steer clear of the most obvious picks, instead focusing mainly on players who could offer great value as differentials.
Silvan Widmer, Mainz (Defender, 2.45M, 0%)
The Swiss full-back started Mainz's last two games of 2025 following the appointment of his countryman Urs Fischer as head coach, scoring in one of them. With Philipp Mwene and Anthony Caci still sidelined, Widmer should continue as a wing-back for a Mainz side that have an attractive schedule at the start of 2026, making him a strong budget option.
Leopold Querfeld, Union Berlin (Defender, 7.28M, 13%)
Querfeld finished the year with three 200+ point returns in a row. After scoring twice from the penalty spot against Bayern in the DFB-Pokal, he missed his most recent penalty against Wolfsburg, but should retain spot-kick duties, which adds to his appeal. Union also begin the year with two favourable fixtures against Mainz and Augsburg.
Alex Grimaldo, Bayer Leverkusen (Defender, 24.23M, 33%)
After getting a much-needed break, Grimaldo is expected to be fit for the start of 2026. Having operated in an even more advanced role since Kasper Hjulmand took over at Leverkusen, the Spanish free-kick specialist arguably offers the highest attacking upside of any defender in the game.
Lennart Karl, FC Bayern (Midfielder, 6.4M, 16%)
After causing headlines by admitting he would like to play for Real Madrid one day, Karl let his feet do the talking and responded with a brace in Bayern’s 5-0 friendly win over RB Salzburg. Priced at just 6.4 million and classified as a midfielder, he offers outstanding value for the price, although Bayern’s tight schedule and fierce competition for places mean he won’t start every match.
Johan Manzambi, Freiburg (Midfielder, 8.73M, 19%)
Manzambi was among the most in-form midfielders in the game heading into 2026, registering between 187 and 294 points in his final five outings of 2025. Contributing points both defensively and offensively, he has established himself as a remarkably consistent Fantasy asset.
Nadiem Amiri, Mainz (Midfielder, 14.02M, 0%)
Since Urs Fischer took over in Mainz, Amiri has been deployed as a second striker. While this slightly reduces his involvement in build-up play, it significantly increases his chances of getting into good shooting positions. With responsibilities on both free-kicks and penalties, he remains a key Fantasy option for a Mainz side with a favourable run of fixtures.
Aleix Garcia, Bayer Leverkusen (Midfielder, 15.4M, 32%)
Another highly consistent midfield option, Garcia has averaged an impressive 212 points per game this season. His central role in Leverkusen’s possession-based system should ensure continued returns.
Patrik Schick, Bayer Leverkusen (Striker, 9.74M, 9%)
Still priced at just 9.74 million, Schick represents excellent value. The Czech striker has contributed to eight goals in Leverkusen’s 12 Bundesliga matches (six goals, two assists) and remains the focal point of Hjulmand’s attack. With Christian Kofane away at the Africa Cup of Nations, he is even likely to see increased minutes.
Romulo, RB Leipzig (Striker, 11.26M, 4%)
Back from injury, the Brazilian forward has returned to the Fantasy radar. He may need some time to regain peak form, but his early-season performances definitely make him worth considering as Leipzig kick off 2026 again relegation-threatened St. Pauli.
Luis Diaz, FC Bayern (Striker, 24.18M, 21%)
Having scored the fourth-most points in the game so far –behind only Alex Grimaldo, Michael Olise and Harry Kane – Diaz has justified his premium price. Starting almost every game for Bayern, the Colombian has had one goal involvement per Bundesliga match on average, making a Kane-Diaz double-up a viable strategy.
