Hamburger SV came from behind to beat Union Berlin on matchday 22. Following their impressive 2-2 draw with league leaders FC Bayern Munich, HSV recorded consecutive wins.

“We started the game well, but Union Berlin presented us with great challenges, and we felt that,” head coach Merlin Polzin said about the game. “It got more exciting at the end than we had hoped.

“We wanted to win this game on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1887th Bundesliga game. It's special to win it. Ultimately, it became the next home win, and I am very happy about that.”

It was HSV’s 1887th Bundesliga game, which coincided with the year the club was founded. The newly-promoted side have a great chance of extending their winning streak when they play away at Mainz on Friday.
