Bayern Munich appear to be making progress in their bid to extend Joshua Kimmich's contract beyond the end of the season.

According to Bild's 'Bayern Insider' podcast, negotiations between the parties are in the final stages, with Bayern having prepared an offer to the central midfielder.

As a result of the advanced talks between Bayern and Kimmich, Real Madrid are no longer considering a move for the Germany captain, according to the podcast.

The Bavarians are hopeful that Kimmich will accept the offer, which doesn't include a pay cut.

The 30-year-old has been a key player this season, starting every game for Bayern.
