Goals from Farès Chaïbi and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya secured a big win for Eintracht Frankfurt as they now overtake Freiburg’s place in seventh. However, Alberto Riera isn’t fully convinced with his team’s performance.
“Congratulations to my team,” Riera starts his presser with a positive remark. “The players built on their second-half performance in Munich, where they stuck to our plan despite being 3-0 down. That was an important signal for me.
“We won, but it wasn't all perfect. We can still improve. I'll discuss the points I mean with the players behind closed doors. I want to make the players better. They should enjoy the game and feel comfortable with the ideas we give them.”
Riera specifically mentioned the change of positioning by Nnamdi Collins and Nathanel Brown in the second-half to assert his point before addressing the latest on the early incident of the game. “We have to keep our fingers crossed for Kaua Santos,” said the Spaniard about the injured goalkeeper.
“We'll know more on Monday. Michael Zetterer was immediately ready. Like every other player, he just wants to help the team. Every player needs to know that he's important to the team, and the time will come.”
