Bayern donate €1 million to victims of flooding in southern Germany

Bayern Munich donate €1 million to support flood diaster victims in southern Germany.

FC Bayern Munich are donating €1 million to help victims of flooding in southern Germany.

The Bavarians announced the donation on Tuesday, stating that the goal is to provide quick and unbureaucratic aid to those affected in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, and that the club will decide on the exact use of the funds shortly.

Commenting on the donation, FC Bayern President Herbert Hainer said:

"The floods have caused great damage and terrible suffering. It is precisely in such exceptional situations that a special sense of community is needed, as many people on the ground are currently demonstrating. FC Bayern wants to show solidarity and support those affected.

FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen added:

"As a club, we stand for togetherness and humanity and are committed to helping those who are in need through no fault of their own. With the aftermath of this natural disaster on our doorstep, we need to stand together and do everything we can to help those affected as quickly as possible".

At least four people have died in floods caused by heavy rain in southern Germany. Thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes in the states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg since the torrential rains began on Friday.
