Guirassy's Dortmund move in doubt as medical reveals injury

Serhou Guirassy's transfer to Borussia Dortmund has hit a snag after the striker's medical revealed an injury.

VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy was due to complete the final formalities of his transfer to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

However, the club have confirmed that the striker's medical revealed an injury that requires further investigation. As a result, the move has been put on hold for the time being.

According to Bild, Guirassy picked up the injury while playing for the Guinea national team, and it hasn't fully healed.

After consulting with team physician Markus Braun, BVB has now decided to seek the opinion of a second specialist.

Nevertheless, Dortmund are currently expecting the transfer of Guirassy to go through in the coming days, but a second medical check is definitely due.

The 28-year-old has a release clause of €18 million in his contract with Stuttgart, for whom he scored 28 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances last season.
