Gündogan on Wirtz and Musiala: It's important to work with them to make the right decisions"

Germany have an exciting trio in attacking midfield, with the experienced Ilkay Gündogan playing alongside prodigies Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala.

But while their talent is undeniable, Wirtz and Musiala can improve when it comes to decision-making, according to captain Gündogan.

"There has to be a balance. I can understand that the two boys are incredibly talented and want to play every ball forward," Gündogan told Bild, adding:

“But certain things have to be practiced to develop automatisms. The boys play for different clubs, so it's important to work with them to make the right decisions in competition. I am convinced that we still have room for improvement.”

Musiala, meanwhile, says he believes he can form a "magical triangle" with Wirtz and Gundogan.

“We want to take some risks, be creative. It's fun. In the tournament, we'll have teams that play deep. We just have players who can make something out of nothing,” he said.

Gündogan, Wirtz and Musiala are expected to start behind Kai Havertz when Germany kicks off the Euros against Scotland on Friday.
