Following up on reports emanating from Sky Germany earlier in the day, Germany's Kicker Magazine now claims that Fulham FC and FC Bayern München have finalized the deal that will bring Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha to the German record champions. Bayern shall get their long-desired "holding six" for a base-transfer-fee of €50 million. The 28-year-old will sign a four-year-contract once his obligatory medical is passed.

Palhinha's official unveiling will have to wait until after his Portuguese national team's 2024 European Championship journey concludes. The 2016 continental champions recently progressed to the tournament quarterfinals with a penalty shoot-out win over Slovenia. The Navigators will square off against France - whom they defeated i the 2016 Final - on Friday.

Should Didier Deschamps' men be able to exact revenge for the 2016 Final, Palhina could be in Bavaria as soon as the weekend. The botched transfer that nearly saw the 30-times-capped international move to Munich last fall was rumored to have been a transfer in the €65 million range. If the Kicker report proves true, the German giants have scored something of a bargain.
