Leverkusen confirm Garcia signing
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of Aleix Garcia from Girona.
The German champions have tied the Spanish holding midfielder down to a long-term contract until 2029.
"Aleix Garcia is a player with outstanding strategic ability, his passing is extremely accurate and he plays with great vision from holding midfield," said Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.
"Aleix has leadership quality that will be very valuable to us in the coming years. We are happy we've been able to sign him and he will be an important factor in meeting our ambitious targets."
26-year-old Garcia, who helped Girona to an impressive third-place finish in the 2023/24 campaign, said:
"Probably like football fans in the whole of Europe, I have admired Bayer 04 Leverkusen for their exceptional achievements in the season just gone.
"I've been thrilled that a club like this has done so much to get me. Now I definitely want to fulfil all the expectations of me and make my contribution to this team and the club in continuing to be successful."
