Ahead of their first round DfB-Pokal match against FC Gütersloh, there is some cause for concern on the personnel front for 1.FC Union Berlin.

The Köpenick club are unlikely to travel with their best team - Diogo Leite, Josip Juranovic and Lucas Tousart were all absent from Tuesday's open training session.

Stefan Baumgart was also without the two experienced defenders and the French midfielder for their narrow 1-0 friendly loss to Olympiakos last Saturday.

While Leite sat in the dugout, Juranovic and Tousart weren't even in the squad and have been working quietly on individual programs to build up their fitness.

The duo are also unlikely to be included in the squad for Gütersloh, meanwhile Leite was seen on the training ground, but only as a spectator wearing flip-flops.

Loan signing Stanley Nsoki is in a race against time to be ready, however Tom Rothe could start the campaign as a makeshift centre-half against their fourth-tier cup opponents.
