Mamardashvili speaks out on Bayern links
Giorgi Mamardashvili has commented on reports linking him to Bayern Munich.
Last summer, Giorgi Mamardashvili was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but the transfer fell through due to the Bavarians failing to agree a fee with Valencia.
Following Georgia's exit from Euro 2024 to Spain on Sunday, Mamardashvili was asked if a move to the Allianz Arena could still be on the cards for him.
"FC Bayern still has the best goalkeeper in the world. That's why it's not possible to go there at the moment. I would only go there if I would be playing. If I'm not playing, I won't go," he told Sky Germany.
Manuel Neuer's contract with Bayern runs until 2025. Alexander Nübel, currently on loan at Stuttgart, appears to be the most likely successor for the 38-year-old.
