Neuer gives injury update after substitution against Dinamo Zagreb
After being forced off against Dinamo Zagreb, Manuel Neuer has allayed fears of a serious injury.
Manuel Neuer was substituted at halftime of Bayern Munich's 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, with Sven Ulreich coming on in his place.
After the game, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany explained that it was a precautionary measure, and Neuer himself has now stressed that the injury isn't serious.
"I fell and felt that something was a bit off. And then I hit a few balls and it stung my thigh. But it's nothing serious, just a minor thing," Neuer told Sky Germany after the game.
Asked if he expects to be fit for Saturday's Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen, Neuer replied:
“I assume so.”
