Former Germany international Mario Gomez wants to work with football, but isn't interested in becoming a coach.

"What is clear is that I miss football because I played for more than twenty years," said Gomez, who is currently working as a pundit for Amazon Prime, in an interview with Stuttgarter Nachrichten.

"There is nothing that I absolutely want to do. The only thing that's clear is that I don't want to be a coach for now."

A return to his former club VfB Stuttgart is not an option at the moment, but could be on the cards later on.

"VfB are in a top position from a sporting perspective at the moment, and therefore this question doesn't arise for me. I've had no talks with VfB in that regard, but maybe sometime in the future," said Gomez.

Gomez ended his career as a Stuttgart player in 2020.
