Following the dismissal of Marco Rose, RB Leipzig have appointed Zsolt Löw as interim head coach while they search for a permanent replacement.

Several candidates have already been linked with the role, and Leipziger Volkszeitung has now added another name to the mix: Former Spain international Cesc Fàbregas, who is currently coaching Italian side Como.

Como shareholder Thierry Henry, who played alongside Fàbregas at Arsenal, shares a strong relationship with RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff.

Fàbregas, who took over as Como's head coach at the start of the season, is under contract with the club until 2028.

Other names reportedly in the frame for the Leipzig job include Sheffield Wednesday's Danny Röhl, free agent Roger Schmidt, Matthias Jaissle (currently at Al-Ahli), and Brentford coach Thomas Frank.
