Tor-Rausch! St. Pauli's impressive run continues

After a win on the road, St. Pauli are now three points clear in the 2. Bundesliga
St. Pauli have taken advantage of Jahn Regensburg's draw last night with an impressive 2:4 victory away at Heidenheim.

The win now puts the boys in brown three points clear at the summit of the 2. Bundesliga.

The game at the Voith-Arena started in poor fashion for Pauli who found themselves a goal down after 4 minutes courtesy of a Tobias Mohr goal.

The closely-contested first half suggested that it may be a struggle for Pauli to turn it around. However, in the 55th minute, St. Pauli found a way back into the game with a goal from Guido Burgstaller.

It was from here that the heavens opened and St. Pauli found themselves 1:2 up just a minute later. Maximilian Dittgen this time put the ball beyond the Heidenheim keeper.

The boys in brown weren't finished there, however. Four minutes on and Burgstellar got his second and Pauli's third of the game. Three goals in just five minutes!

From then on, it was Pauli dominating most of the ball. They again found the onion bang thanks to Dittgen once more.

Heidenheim mounted a late rally a scored a consolation five minutes from time.

It's this clinical nature that puts St. Pauli top of the 2. Bundesliga and three points clear of the chasing pack. The boys in brown travel to Dresden next for a DFB Pokal clash before heading to Bremen in the league.
