In response to an inquiry from the Deutsche Presse Agentur, a Madrid court has confirmed that Bayern defender Lucas Hernandez flew to Madrid on Monday to appear before the court on a pending legal issue. The summons actually required the 25-year-old French international to appear on Tuesday, but Hernandez and his legal team opted to take care of the appointment one day early.

This presumably means that Hernandez will be available for Bayern's Champions' League tie at Benfica Lisbon.

The dpa further reports that Hernandez's lawyers have filed an appeal on the verdict rendered last week; one that actually sentenced the defender to six-months-incarceration. According to the German source, the court will take until October 28th to consider the appeal.
