How Germany could line up against Liechtenstein

We delve into Germany's predicted line-up for Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein.
Germany are set to field a second-string side when they face Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier in Wolfsburg on Thursday.

With a total of eight players ruled out due to injuries and COVID-19, including Niklas Süle, Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry, Germany coach Hansi Flick will have a depleted squad to choose from, although he has handed late call-ups to Jonathan Tah, Ridle Baku, Maximilian Arnold and Kevin Volland.

Most remarkably, Wolfsburg forward Lukas Nmecha looks in line to make his first senior international start.

"Lukas Nmecha showed why he's here in training yesterday. Maybe he will start at his home ground tomorrow. I hereby fuel the speculation," said Flick at the pre-match press conference.

As for the many absentees, Flick admitted:

"Of course, we imagined everything differently. We are glad that we already managed to qualify for the World Cup in October."
