Joshua Kimmich has become the next Bayern München player to return a positive COVID-19 result.

Since Kimmich has to remain in domestic isolation from the moment of the positive test, he's expected to miss Bayern's upcoming three games against Arminia Bielefeld, Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona.

Kimmich has been unavailable for Bayern's last two matches as he had to enter quarantine after being in close contact with a person infected with the virus.

The German international has been at the center of the COVID vaccine debate in Germany since last month after admitting that he is yet to be vaccinated against the virus.

Kimmich raised his concerns about "a lack of long-term studies" into the vaccines, but also said that it was "very possible" that he would get vaccinated eventually.

Bayern confirmed earlier today that Kimmich's teammate Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has tested positive for coronavirus.

On the positive side for Bayern, two of their other players, Niklas Süle and Josip Stanisic, returned to training today after recovering from COVID-19.
