More news on the German Bundesliga fan front on Friday enables ties up at least one loose end in our recent Bulinews report on the status of fan return. The German federal state of Rhineland-Pfalz will permit larger capacity crowds as part of its recently revised corona-protection ordinance. Twenty percent capacity is now permitted.  Practically speaking for the states one top tier German football club, this translates to an increase in crowd size from 1,000 to 6,800 for FSV Mainz 05.

The Rheinhessen confirmed the increase on the club's official website and all official social media channels on Friday. Mainz will actually operate with a simple "2G" concept, though "2G+" shall be enforced in the VIP Areas. Additionally, there shall be 350 tickets reserved for traveling supporters of opponents TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, with season ticket holders retaining the first right of refusal.
