Matchday 11 – team of the week (4-1-3-2):

Goalkeeper: Michael Esser, Hannover 96
Played an important part with a total of 12 (!) saves as Hannover 96 defeated Wolfsburg 2-1 and took their second win of the season.

Right-back: Lukas Klostermann, RB Leipzig
Had a very convincing game against Bayer Leverkusen. Scored a goal and had a foot in Yussuf Poulsen's second goal as he blocked an attempt to clear the ball so it fell to the Dane.

Centre-back: Timo Baumgartl, VfB Stuttgart
Scored a vital goal to send Stuttgart ahead in the much needed 2-0 win over FC Nürnberg. Also shone defensively and won 82 percent of his duels.

Centre-back: Ibrahima Konaté, RB Leipzig
Konaté is one of the reasons RB Leipzig have kept a clean sheet in seven out of their eight past games in all tournaments. Rock solid in the 3-0 win over Leverkusen.

Left-back: Niko Gießelmann, Fortuna Düsseldorf
Had a great game against Hertha BSC. Did well to come forward all game and provided the assist for Takashi Usami's opener in the 4-1 win.

Central midfielder: Axel Witsel, Borussia Dortmund (2)
Once again underlined how important he is to Dortmund in the 3-2 win over Bayern München. As always, he was a calm and physically strong presence in the middle of the park. Also made the assist for Paco Alcacer's winner with a great through ball.

Right midfielder: Thorgan Hazard, Borussia Mönchengladbach (3)
Hazard caused Werder Bremen a lot of trouble with his quick feet and nifty footwork. Oozed confidence through the entire match and got an assist as he set up Alassane Pléa with a clever corner kick.

Offensive midfielder: Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund (3)
The BVB captain led his team on in the 3-2 win over Bayern München in which he stepped up to score the first two Dortmund goals.

Left midfielder: Alassane Pléa, Borussia Mönchengladbach (2)
Once again stole the show for Gladbach as he was a constant threat and bagged a hattrick in the 3-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Striker: Luka Jovic, Eintracht Frankfurt (3)
The 20-year-old is simply unstoppable these days. Jovic gets to spend the international break on the Bundesliga's top scorer throne after he took his league goal tally to nine with a brace against Schalke 04.

Striker: Yussuf Poulsen, RB Leipzig
The Danish international is enjoying a great season and delivered another strong performance in the 3-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen in which he scored two goals - the first one of them after audaciously lifting the ball over Lukas Hradecky.
