Argentine midfielder Santiago Ascacibar has publicly revealed he wants to leave Hertha BSC this summer.

"I really want a change of scenery. I don't know where, but I'm sure I want to change," Ascacibar announced in an interview with Argentine media outlet TyC Sports.

Asked whether he could imagine a switch back to his homeland, Ascacibar responded:

"The truth is that there is nothing concrete on the table. I'm still waiting. I have a two-year contract in Germany. We'll see what happens."

Ascacibar left Argentine side Estudiantes for Stuttgart in 2017. He was sold to Hertha for €10 million in January 2020.
