Bielefeld set to sign discarded Schalke keeper

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that DSC Arminia Bielefeld are prepared to snap up FC Schalke 04's promotion-campaign keeper Martin Fraisl on a free.

Despite making 26 starts in goal last year for FC Schalke 04 during their successful promotion campaign, 29-year-old Austrian net-minder Martin Fraisl was one of the club's 2. Bundesliga actors deemed not of sufficient quality for the top German footballing flight. Rouven Schröder and the S04 administrative team, much to Fraisl's personal dismay, opted not to renew their former #1's contract and instead bring in Hertha's Alexander Schwolow in on loan. 

German footballing magazine Kicker now reports that recently relegated DSC Arminia Bielefeld will pick up the veteran journeyman for their own promotion push. The Teutoborgs were content to roll with Stefanos Kapino after their former star between the sticks Stefan Ortega departed for Man City over the summer. After Kapino failed to impress in his initial starts, a may have incurred a slight injury as well, Fraisl may immediately find himself starting.
