VfL Wolfsburg forward Jonas Wind has given an update on his recovery from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since the beginning of the season.

"Things are going in the right direction for me. Unfortunately it's a quite serious hamstring injury, which takes a bit of time to recover from," Wind said in an exclusive interview with Bulinews.com.

If everything goes according to plan, the Danish international will be available again in the beginning of next month, meaning he should have time enough to play himself back into form for the World Cup in November.

"It's already been around four weeks since I sustained the injury, and there's still some time left until I can return. Hopefully, I'll be available again once the international break is over. My rehab is going well, and I've started running a bit," said Wind.

"Of course it's annoying. It's a setback, but if I can return in the beginning of October, there will still be around a month and a half before the World Cup begins.

"I'm working hard and not sitting on my hands by any means, so I'm confident that I will will be back in top shape in time for the World Cup," added the forward, who has scored five times in 15 games for Denmark.

The former FC Copenhagen striker also shared his thoughts on Borussia Dortmund's Champions League clash with the Danish champions at Signal Iduna Park, which will take place tonight.

"It goes without saying that Dortmund are huge favorites," said Wind, who joined Wolfsburg from FC Copenhagen for €12 million back in January.

"Copenhagen did well to qualify for the Champions League. They're a quite young team, but they also have experience with players like Carlos Zeca, who is back in form after an injury, and Andreas Cornelius, who has been brought back. Cornelius gives them more physicality up front, which puts them in a better position for their international games.

"But I don't think Copenhagen will see much of the ball tonight. Dortmund are a very good team, and Copenhagen need to be wary of not losing the ball in dangerous positions, because Dortmund have many good counter-attacking players. All things considered, I expect Dortmund to win quite comfortably, but you never know. I'm hoping for Copenhagen to do well of course, but I'm predicting a Dortmund win," noted the Denmark international.
