Reports: Mainz in agreement with Ajorque

After a move to VfB Stuttgart fell through this past summer, it looks as if striker Ludovic Ajorque is now about to make the leap to German football.
Multiple sources currently report that FSV Mainz 05 have turned to a familiar figure in their search for some additional attacking assistance. French striker Ludovic Ajorque will - according to Foot Mercato, L'Equipe, German tabloid "Sport Bild", and German footballing magazine Kicker - make the quick leap across the border from Racing Strasbourg.

With an estimated market worth of some €11 million, Ajorque will constitute a major coup for die Nullfünfter. Some of the sources suggest that Mainz will compensate Strasbourg for their loss by allowing attacker Angelo Fulgini to move West in a straight swap. Kicker, however, expresses some doubts about this. Head-coach Bo Svensson is quoted in a Kicker article as saying he doesn't wish to allow Fulgini to depart.

Mainz and Strasbourg have worked together on two other transactions this season. Defender Anthony Caci arrived from the Alsatians in the summer. Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel was initially loaned out to Racing on an arrangement that was later rescinded. Ajorque himself was heavily linked with Stuttgart this summer. The 28-year-old is reported to have a strong personal desire to play in the Bundesliga.
