Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Hertha BSC preview: Can desperate Hertha claim a point?

Reeling Hertha are in dire need of a result at the Deutsche Bank Park against a top Frankfurt side that could jump back into the Champions League places with a win.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt are coming off back-to-back draws against Freiburg and Bayern, but it’s safe to say they're still heading into Matchday 19 feeling confident. It’s an enticing home matchup with floundering Hertha coming to town, as Eintracht look to return to winning ways.

Philipp Max has signed from PSV and could immediately feature at left-back. He’ll be swinging in crosses to in-form Randal Kolo Muani, who has now incredibly tallied seven goals and ten assists in league play thus far.

Oliver Glasner stated that, "One thing’s clear: we want to win our second home game of the year after drawing our last two games. The team are giving off a good impression - they were very committed and focused. I have a good feeling."

Faride Alidou is doubtful for the contest, while Junior Dina Ebimbe and Marcel Wenig aren’t ready to return.

Hertha BSC

Another hectic week at Hertha is coming to a close. Wow, just wow. Sporting Director Fredi Bobic was fired hours after their derby loss over the weekend, which means Benjamin Weber is now in charge.

It was then well-reported that Hertha failed to complete deals for several January signings, as they could only sign midfielder Tolga Cigerci from Turkey who’s now in his second stint at the club.

At 17th on the table, supporters are clamoring for a glimmer of hope on the pitch. Or else, financial disaster and an unthinkable relegation await.

Under-fire Sandro Schwarz shared in his press conference that, "Eintracht are strong in attack and defend aggressively. They are not high in the table for nothing. We will need to give everything to beat them."
