Jenz wants to stay at Schalke 04 for years to come

Moritz Jenz says it would be "awesome" to stay at Schalke 04 beyond the end of the season.
Last month, Moritz Jenz joined Schalke 04 from FC Lorient on loan with a reported obligation to buy if the club stay in the league.

In an interview with Sport Bild, the 23-year-old underlines that he would like to stay at the Gelsenkirchen club.

"If I could play for this club for another few years, that would be awesome. It's a huge motivation for me to make that happen. I really want it to work out," he said.

Reflecting on his loan spell at Celtic, which was terminated prematurely to make the move to Schalke possible, Jenz said:

"The coach decided to use other players, which made it difficult for me. Lorient, my parent club, also wanted a change to happen.

"Celtic had an option to buy for the coming summer, and from Lorient's point of view, it became increasingly unrealistic that this would be triggered. Moreover, it was also my clear desire to change clubs."
