Guirassy looks to be fit for Frankfurt
VfB Stuttgart trainer Sebastian Hoeneß sounded a tentative, yet firm enough, all clear when it came to lead-striker Serhou Guirassy's playing prospects in tomorrow night's DFB semi-final prospects at his Tuesday's presser.
The swelling around VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy's eye came down to the extent that the squad's leading goal-scorer was able to participate in most all aspects of team training on Tuesday. This news was reported with glee by VfB trainer Sebastian Hoeneß at his Tuesday presser, who labelled himself "in positive spirits" about Guirassy's playing prospects in tomorrow night's DFB Pokal semi-final.
Hoeneß didn't wish to make any explicit guarantees, but cheerfully noted that one could act on the assumption that the 27-year-old would be available. The recently installed VfB gaffer - undefeated in five matches in charge of the Swabians - should have a full compliment of players to draw from. Hoeneß noted that defender Waldemar Anton had to sit out training with a stomach bug, but should be back fit by tomorrow night.
At a press conference held yesterday, Eintracht Frankfurt head-coach Oliver Glasner also had mostly positive news to report. The SGE trainer noted that, after missing out over the weekend against Augsburg, his lead-striker Randal Kolo Muani would likely be fit in time to face Stuttgart. Midfielder Djibril Sow is also on the road to a quick comeback. Longer term absentees Evan N'dicka and Jesper Lindstrøm may also feature.
