Confirmed: Gladbach sign FCB II striker

Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed the signing of FCB II striker Grant-Leon Ranos on Wednesday afternoon. 
Borussia Mönchengladbach have signing FC Bayer reserver striker Grant-Leon Ranos on a free transfer. The 19-year-old - who scored 20 goals and registered 15 assists for FCB II in the Bavarian Regionalliga this year - inked a new deal with the Fohlenelf good thorough 2027. After snagging Hertha BSC II fullback Lukas Ullrich on a free at the beginning of the month, Gladbach have now picked up two young talents for the coming season.

"Grant-Leon is a very interesting and talented player who can be used as a center forward, but also in attacking midfield," BMG sporting director Roland Virkus noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "He played a very strong season in the Regionalliga and wishes take on bigger challenges with us. We will support him in this."

The teenage talent has already been capped once for the Armenian national team, scoring two goals in his country's 2-2 friendly draw with Cyprus in March. Ranos spent time in the Hannover and Dortmund youth systems before moving to the Bayern campus in 2018. He arrives in Westphalia on a free transfer off an expiring contract.

"I'm incredibly excited to become part of this great club," Ranos noted in his own statement, "This is a big step for me in my career, which I will approach with full motivation and conviction,.Roland Virkus has put a lot of effort into me and has thus absolutely convinced me of the Borussia way. I want to reward this trust and quickly find my place in the team."
