Meunier denies Brugge links: "I won't be leaving Dortmund without a better offer."

In an interview conducted with Belgian newspaper "La Dernière Heure", Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier has denied reports that he his headed back to his old Belgian club.
Reports linking Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier with a return to Club Brugge are - according to the player at least - false rumors. In an interview with "La Dernière Heure" newspaper in his native Belgium, the 31-year-old fullback unequivocally denied that he would be playing in West Flanders next season.

"No, I'm not returning to Brugge," Meunier told the paper, "I have never received a call from there."

Meunier told his interviewer that he had no intention of leaving his current German club for anything other than a more attractive destination. The former PSG professional specifically mentioned the English Premier League, whilst also noting that he could be tempted by offers in Spain, Portugal, or Italy.

It's no secret that Dortmund would like to get Meunier's reported €9 million annual salary off the books and the player himself admitted that a transfer would be in the best interest of "all involved parties". Meunier nevertheless insisted that he prefer to remain in North Rhine Westphalia unless a better offer came along.

"If I don't find anything better than Dortmund, I will not leave for fun," Meunier is quoted as saying, "The club knows that."
